Belfast Arrival Guide
Belfast offers all the excitement of an international city while being a gateway to rural Northern Ireland. A vibrant nightlife, with bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants galore; some of the UK’s best shopping and a wide range of accommodation, Belfast has much to offer for a great break.

Over the last few years, Belfast has become a major contender in the gourmet playing field as well as an emerging and burgeoning nightlife scene. Offering a huge range of eateries from fine dining restaurants to gastropubs serving an array of different cuisines, Belfast serves up food ranging from traditional Irish fare to the latest in modern, eclectic dining.

Eating Out

Café Vaudeville is Belfast’s newest addition – a luxury dining bar with a French café bistro that boasts Ireland’s first ever ‘bolli’ bar. Café Vaudeville joins a host of renowned restaurants in Belfast, including Ten Square, The Apartment, Zen, Malmaison and celebrity Irish chef Paul Rankin’s Roscoff Brasserie and Cayenne Restaurant. With such variety, there are options for all budgets too – Mournes Seafood bar offers half dozen oysters and Mourne mussel pots from just £4.50.

Entertainment

Visits can include the shipyard where the Titanic was built, which is showcased in the Titanic Experience. Other attractions include the Cave Hill Visitor Centre within Belfast Castle, where you will see a re-created 1920s bridal suite, plus an interesting display of wedding pictures.

Visitors to Belfast should also experience a 'Belfast Safari' – a variety of walking tours of the city that focus on the themes of art, literature, politics, music, architecture and sports. The newest tour is the ‘George Best Safari’ where visitors follow in the footsteps of Belfast's very own football icon and local hero to find out about the man that was revered by Pele as the greatest footballer of all time. The tour takes in murals painted by local artists in tribute to the great athlete and see tributes to Best’s childhood, his time at Queen's University and Stormont Parliament Buildings, plus his final resting place at Roselawn cemetery.

The Surrounding Areas
Discover the dramatic North Atlantic coastline from Portstewart to Ballycastle. The impressive coastal route takes in stunning scenery including sandy Blue Flag beaches and rocky bays, traditional fishing villages and the famous Causeway Coast and Glens of Antrim. Highlights include the World Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causeway, the ruins of Dunluce Castle and the nail-biting Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge, which straddles a chasm some 80 feet deep.
