Cambrils
Parts of Cambrils are still very Spanish in character with narrow cobbled streets, traditional buildings and all the charm of a small fishing village.
Eating & Drinking
The town boasts some excellent seafood restaurants as well as a selection of of British pubs, pizzerias, burger bars, Chinese restaurants, Spanish tapas bars and a few upmarket eateries.
The resort also has many pubs, music bars, discos, flamenco bars and nightclubs in the wider resort area, many of which stay open till the early hours of the morning.
Entertainment
Water sports are easily available on the Salou beaches and other sports activities include golf, tennis, squash and horse riding. The PortAventura theme park is one of the main attractions, offering five themed "worlds", spectacular shows, daredevil roller coasters and an exhilarating water park. A flea market is held every Monday in the 'old' centre of town which makes for an interesting visit.
Salou
Aside from its string of beaches interrupted by rocky coves, and its landscaped promenade, one of Salou's main attractions is the Port Aventura complex, formerly owned by the Universal Studios chain of theme parks.
Eating & Drinking
When it comes to eating and drinking, there's something to suit everybody, from fine dining to British pubs, pizzerias, fast food, Chinese restaurants, and Spanish tapas bars. At night, visit the many pubs, music bars, discos, flamenco bars and nightclubs.
Entertainment
Entertainment is laid on for children in the summer, and festivals are popular at night with families. The town council has a programme of sporting and cultural events for tourists, and there's also volleyball, windsurfing and canoeing whilst shoppers are well-catered for with a range of boutiques, jewellers and shoe shops as well as the commercial centre.
Sitges
Sitges boasts some impressive architecture, narrow, sloping streets and charming whitewashed traditional hacienda-style buildings. A palm-lined seafront promenade adds a casual, almost Californian flavour to the resort and the beach is a long series of curved bays formed by man-made breakwaters.
Eating & Drinking
All type of food is on offer in Sitges, including Italian and Chinese, though there's a predominance of local cuisine with plenty of tapas and a number of top-class restaurants serving Catalan specialities. The resort also has a few fast-food outlets, numerous stylish cafes and ice-cream parlours. There's also an indoor market for fresh local produce.
Nightlife is lively, with nightclubs, discos, plentiful music bars, pubs and cafes, particularly on the Carrer Marques de Montroig, which leads down to the sea front from the centre.
Entertainment
Sites has a few museums including the art museum with pictures by Picasso and El Greco. Take a walking tour of the town, or enjoy water sports such as swimming, scuba-diving, sailing, windsurfing and water-skiing. Also on offer is beach volleyball, golf, horse riding, tennis, bowling alley, walking/hiking trails, cycling and roller blading. Those looking to simply take it easy and soak up some rays will enjoy the main beach with its long series of curved bays formed by man-made rock breakwaters with rock platforms for sunbathing.
