The island of Tenerife lies in the Atlantic Ocean, some 180 miles from the African coast of Morocco. It is the largest and most populous of the Canary Islands. With the Canary Islands special tax status, the airports have good duty-free facilities, although you’ll find cheaper prices in the local shops.
